# Security

> What the audit log records, how long it keeps events, and how to read them

Security is part of the Enterprise plan. On it, admins find these settings under **Settings** → **Security**. To set up Enterprise, contact us.

## Audit log

The audit log records what happens on your account: people joining and leaving, role and permission changes, API keys, connected apps, approvals, and more. You see recent events under [Activity](#activity) on the same page. Developers can read the full log through the API.

* **Capture level**: **Full** (the default) also records every app and tool your assistant uses. **Governance only** records access and configuration changes, and stops recording tool use. Tool use from while it was off can't be recovered.
* **Keep events for**: 30, 90, 180, 400 (the default) or 730 days. Older events are deleted once a day.

Changing these settings is itself recorded.

### Activity

**Activity** lists the most recent 500 events on the account, newest first. It shows changes people and your assistant make, and scheduled jobs that fail or need your input. With the capture level set to **Full**, it also lists each app and tool your assistant uses. Search the list, or filter it by resource, event, who did it, and date. Select an event with details to expand it. An approved, rejected or finished approval shows the action, the tool's approval setting at that moment, and the chat it came from.

It doesn't list routine job runs that finished normally, so a quiet log doesn't mean a job didn't run. Open the job's run list to see every run. For events older than the most recent 500, use the API.
