# Email your audience

> Send newsletters and broadcasts to your customers, and read and reply to messages right inside Crevio -- with Crevio writing the words for you.

Email is still one of the best ways to stay close to the people who buy from you. Crevio gives you two things in one place: a way to send messages out to your audience, and an inbox to read and reply to the messages that come back.

The best part? You don't have to be a writer. Just tell Crevio what you want to say and it drafts the email for you.

## Send a broadcast or newsletter

A broadcast is one message sent to many people at once -- a product launch, a weekly newsletter, a sale announcement, or a heads-up about something new.

You can send to everyone, or to just one group of people. For example, send a thank-you offer to only your paying customers, or a gentle nudge to people who signed up but haven't bought yet.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Email">
    In your dashboard, go to **Email** and start a new broadcast.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose who gets it">
    Send to all of your customers, or pick a group -- for example only your paying customers, your free members, or your leads. You can also narrow it down further using [tags](/features/tags).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask Crevio to write it">
    Tell Crevio what the email is about -- "write a friendly newsletter announcing my new course" -- and it drafts a subject line and message for you. Read it over and tweak anything you like.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send or schedule">
    Send it right away, or pick a date and time for it to go out later.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Not sure what to send? Ask Crevio. Try "draft a monthly newsletter with a tip and a link to my latest product" and it will give you a starting point you can edit.
</Tip>

## Your inbox inside Crevio

Crevio also gives you an inbox, so the replies and questions from your customers land in one place -- no need to jump between your email app and your dashboard.

You can read every conversation, reply by hand, or let Crevio draft a reply for you to review before it goes out.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your inbox">
    In your dashboard, go to **Email** and open your inbox to see your conversations.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read a message">
    Click any conversation to see the full back-and-forth.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reply, or let Crevio draft it">
    Type your reply, or ask Crevio to draft one. Crevio reads the conversation and suggests a response. You stay in control -- nothing is sent until you say so.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Ask Crevio to "draft a polite reply offering a refund" or "answer their question about access" and it will write a response based on the conversation. You can edit it before sending.
</Tip>

## Send from your own domain

By default, your emails go out from a Crevio address. If you have your own domain (like `hello@yourbusiness.com`), you can send from that instead, so your messages look like they come straight from you. This builds trust and helps your emails land in the inbox rather than the spam folder.

<Note>
  Setting up your own domain takes a few minutes and a small one-time setup with your domain provider. Crevio walks you through it step by step.
</Note>

## If something goes wrong

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="My broadcast didn't reach everyone">
    Double-check which group you sent to. If you picked "paying customers" only, people who haven't bought won't receive it. Send a follow-up to the wider group if needed.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My emails are landing in spam">
    Sending from your own domain greatly improves where your emails land. If you haven't set up your domain yet, do that first. Also avoid spammy words and too many links in a single email.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A reply isn't showing in my inbox">
    Give it a moment -- new replies can take a short while to appear. If a customer replied to an old message from a different address, it may start a new conversation rather than continue the old one.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Crevio's draft isn't quite right">
    Just tell it what to change -- "make it shorter", "warmer", or "mention the discount". You can also edit the text yourself before sending.
  </Accordion>
